Mehndi By Genisha was founded in August 2016 from a passion for the beautiful art of Mehndi. What first fascinated Genisha was the magical oxidation process — watching the Mehndi stain transform from a bright orange colour into a rich deep maroon. That curiosity quickly grew into a love for the craft.

With encouragement from a complete stranger who later became a close friend, Genisha was inspired to turn this passion into a business. What began as a way to earn money to support her studies and gain independence soon became a growing creative journey.

Today, Mehndi By Genisha is known for its commitment to quality and consistency. All designs are completely freehand and self-taught, making every piece unique and personal for each client.

Over the years, the business has grown to travel across South Africa for Mehndi bookings, with Gauteng being the furthest destination so far. Meeting new people, travelling, and constantly learning new Mehndi styles and trends are some of the things Genisha loves most about her work.

Whether it’s for weddings, celebrations, festivals, or special occasions, each design is created with care, creativity, and a genuine passion for the art of Mehndi.

In addition to Mehndi artistry, Genisha is also a certified professional piercing artist who follows strict hygiene standards and uses sterilized equipment to ensure every piercing is safe, clean, and comfortable.
